“Recovery is not just about staying sober; it’s about building a life worth staying sober for. Recovery housing provides the safe and supportive environment needed to rebuild that life, one step at a time.”

Fresh Start understands the need for long-term support and the barriers individuals face in the initial days of recovery. We are grateful to offer affordable housing options to those we serve.

In 2024, Fresh Start Recovery proudly expanded our capacity to provide safe, supportive post-treatment housing by acquiring 66 additional beds through the incredible partnership and support of the Government of Alberta (GOA) and the Calgary Homeless Foundation (CHF). This milestone more than doubles our ability to house, treat, and support individuals and their families, amplifying the reach and impact of our services.

We are deeply grateful for the trust and collaboration that made this expansion possible. It ensures that more individuals and families have access to the care, resources, and connections essential to continuing their recovery journey. This growth reaffirms our commitment to creating a safe, nurturing environment where healing can take root and thrive.

To our partners, supporters, and community—thank you. Together, we are extending hope and making recovery more accessible, reinforcing the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity for a fresh start.

At Fresh Start Recovery, we understand that a stable, supportive environment plays a critical role in maintaining recovery after treatment. To facilitate this transition, we offer three post-treatment housing locations near our main facility in Calgary and supported post-treatment homes in Lethbridge.

These residences provide a safe, structured setting where clients can continue to build on the progress made during treatment. By staying connected to the Fresh Start community, individuals benefit from ongoing peer support, access to outreach services, and proximity to familiar resources and staff.

Through community investments and the generous support of the Calgary Homeless Foundation (CHF) and individual property owners, we are able to provide these opportunities for long-term recovery and stability. This collaborative effort ensures that individuals have access to secure housing as they reintegrate into daily life, develop independence, and strengthen essential life skills — all while remaining in an environment that promotes sustained recovery.
