Treatment: A Path to Recovery
Our 90-day treatment program lays the foundation of support within the Fresh Start continuum of care. The ongoing evolution of our treatment program emphasizes our understanding of the importance of developing best practices and measuring outcomes. This methodology has set Fresh Start Recovery as a leader in addiction treatment. Our program review indicates an 80% group completion rate and a 53% success rate of continuous abstinence-based recovery after one year of completing treatment. We are accredited through Accreditation Canada, licensed through the Government of Alberta, and have been peer-reviewed, meeting the highest level of consistent quality of care and protocol in dealing with those we serve.
Outreach Support: Sustaining Recovery Beyond Treatment
Upon completing treatment, clients are recognized as alumni and integrated into our outreach support services to ensure continuity of care during their transition. Based on individual needs and progress, clients may extend their stay at our treatment facility, transition into post-treatment housing, or reintegrate into their home environment.
Our outreach services provide ongoing support, reinforcing relapse prevention strategies and fostering long-term recovery, regardless of where clients are in their journey. Fresh Start’s commitment extends beyond initial treatment, reflecting our dedication to sustained recovery and holistic well-being.
Day Program: An Flexible Alternative
For individuals with a stable and supportive home environment, Fresh Start Recovery offers a Day Program that mirrors the comprehensive treatment framework of our residential program. Participants engage in structured, evidence-based programming throughout the day and return home each evening, maintaining connections to their personal and professional responsibilities.
This option is ideal for those who require intensive support but can benefit from the flexibility to navigate family or work commitments. Due to the high level of individual attention and limited capacity, placement in the Day Program is selective and offered on a case-by-case basis.
Friends and Family: Healing Together
At Fresh Start Recovery, we recognize that addiction impacts not only the individual but also their loved ones and friends. Our Friends and Family: Coming Together program is a dedicated initiative designed to support those affected by the complexities of loving or caring for someone through addiction, recovery, or loss.
This program goes beyond education—it offers a pathway for personal growth and healing. Addiction often reshapes relationships and dynamics in subtle yet significant ways. Our series provides a compassionate and supportive space to explore these changes and develop a deeper understanding of your journey and that of your loved one.
Through guided sessions, participants gain tools to build resilience, foster healthier relationships, and find strength in shared experiences. We welcome you to join us in this meaningful series, standing together as we navigate the path to healing and hope.

Alumni: A Lifelong Community of Support
At Fresh Start Recovery, we understand that recovery extends far beyond the completion of treatment — it’s a lifelong path strengthened by connection and shared experiences. The Fresh Start Alumni community reflects the power of unity, resilience, and continued growth. This vibrant and supportive network is made up of individuals who have completed our treatment programs and the Friends and Family program, fostering mutual understanding and collective healing.
Our alumni gather weekly for dedicated meetings, where encouragement, accountability, and solidarity are at the forefront. These gatherings provide a space to share experiences, celebrate progress, and navigate challenges together. The relationships built within the alumni community continue well beyond the meetings, offering lasting support throughout each stage of recovery.
The alumni network also encourages personal development by providing opportunities to give back. Many alumni return as mentors, volunteers, and advocates, contributing to the growth of others while reinforcing their recovery journey. This cycle of support strengthens the community and highlights the importance of service and connection.
At Fresh Start, we remain committed to supporting each individual throughout their recovery journey. Our belief in Every Individual Recovery for Life drives us to cultivate a community where no one walks the path of recovery alone. Together, we honour progress, foster resilience, and embrace the possibilities of a brighter, healthier future.
Community Partnerships: Strength in Collaboration and Connection
We recognize that recovery flourishes in the presence of strong community connections. The journey to lasting recovery is not walked alone — it is supported by the collective strength of individuals, families, and organizations working together. As the saying goes, “It takes a village,” and we believe that fostering a sense of belonging, both personal and collective, helps build identity, resilience, and hope — essential components of long-term healing.
We deeply value and actively cultivate partnerships with organizations that share our vision of supporting individuals through addiction recovery. These collaborations extend the reach of our services, ensuring clients have access to the resources they need at every stage of their journey. Whether it’s mental health services, housing initiatives, employment programs, or peer support groups, our community partners play an essential role in addressing the diverse and evolving needs of our clients.
By working together, we can close service gaps and offer a seamless continuum of care, reinforcing the idea that no need is too great and no individual is left behind. These partnerships are rooted in shared values — compassion, integrity, and a commitment to seeing individuals succeed not just in recovery but in rebuilding their lives.
Our collaborative efforts help create purpose, foster social reintegration, and provide critical support systems that continue long after clients leave our facility. Through community engagement, clients are empowered to develop meaningful relationships, find new opportunities, and become active participants in their communities.
At Fresh Start, we believe that building bridges within the community strengthens everyone involved. Together, we create environments of trust, accountability, and growth — reinforcing the message that recovery is possible, sustainable, and supported by many hands and hearts.
Outreach service is available to anyone who completes our 90-day treatment program; it is tailored to each individual. We understand that support in these next days, months, and years (s) is imperative for maintaining long-term recovery.
Every individual has an opportunity to collaborate and define their path of recovery through connection with an outreach peer support worker. Our team will work in unison with our Addiction Counsellors prior to the completion of treatment to ensure the best possible outcomes are met during the transition from treatment back to community.
